Well, well, well. It came to my attention (thanks for the phone calls!) That I left the date off for the wine dinner! I apologize for all the emails, but it's been a "challenging" week. Our Iberian wine dinner is on Sept. 27th All the info that follows is the same as what was sent yesterday. Also, there is a random facebook post saying the event has been canceled. Please ignore it, the event is on! It was part of this weeks challenges. Ugh!

Join the Murphy Beverage Company & LK Wine Tours and Sales at the Hilton Garden Inn for an Iberian Wine Dinner. Executive Chef Jessamy Oxley will pair her dishes with the wines of Portugal & Spain.
Wines & pairings include:
- dePro Rose Cava as a welcome
- Tiroliro Vinho Verde Branco paired with shaved apple fennel salad with white balsamic vinaigrette
- Calamari Verdejo, Rueda paired with mixed ceviche, octopus, shrimp/prawns & scallops
- Intermezzo-Italian ice made with Tiroliro Vinho Verde Rose
- El Sierro Tinto, La Mancha paired with Duck Risotto
- Pacheco Organic Monastrell, Jumilla paired with Spanish tortillas with peppers, relish, fingerling potatoes & chorizo
- dePro Cava Brut paired with red wine poached pairs, prosciutto ribbons, blue cheese & lemon Italian ice
Make your reservation by 9/24. A $25.00 deposit will be taken for all reservations & applied towards your bill. Call Murphys for information & reservations at 540-723-9719.
- We will be using Riedel Glassware for the evening.
- You'll have 5 courses for $72.00 (not including tax & gratuity).
- A free shuttle from Old Town to the Hilton Garden is available first come, first serve & you'll be brought back to Old Town at the end of the night, no later than 8:45pm.
- All wines will be available for purchase, at special pricing at the end of the evening!
The Hilton Garden is located at 120 Wingate Drive. I am really excited about this, I hope you'll join us.

Don't forget our Wine & Book club, coming up on Oct. 3rd with the Winchester Book Gallery. Our first book is Kitchen Confidential and we are requesting, if you don't already have it, to pick it up at the Book Gallery. We meet at 6pm at The Book Gallery's new location 7 North Loudoun St. The cost is $10.00 to cover the cost of the wines (cash or card) & you'll pay the night we meet. In doing some research into Anthony, I found that his last show was filmed in Alsace, so we will feature a Cremant d'Alsace (a sparkler) as an opener and a red Bordeaux, too. His family hails from Bordeaux and he spent time there growing up. Please mark your calendar.
