Let me just say you are AMAZING and I am so grateful to be a part of this beautiful community of makers.

Last week I wrote to you and shared a challenge and in less than 24 hours, as a community, we were able to raise enough money through donations to replace my aging recording equipment with a brand new set up that is sure to offer us years of use. I can not possibly thank you all enough for your kindness and generosity. Thank you, thank you, thank you times infinity and beyond!

It was such a joy to record this week's sewing tutorial in one take. I can not even remember if I have ever been able to do that. And, I think the sound quality is greatly improved; but, I will let you be the judge of that.

Many of you insisted on making a donation even after I had announced that we had enough money to buy the equipment and that just blows my mind. I have earmarked some of those funds to purchase a backup battery and will put the rest in a future fund so that we can meet any upcoming expenses for the channel.

As part of this process, several of you wrote to encourage me to set up a Patreon page as well. After doing some more research I think that is the responsible thing to do because as the channel and our community continues to grow it will undoubtedly require more time and resources to manage. So, I thank you too for your foresight and am pleased to offer you the chance to be amongst the first Sewspire Patrons.

If you are not familiar, Patreon is a fairly new concept that is designed to help makers and creators earn a sustainable income or in our case the funds would be used to pay for the costs associated with creating the YouTube tutorials, operating Sewspire.com and publishing this newsletter (which you might think is free; but, they actually charge me $50 per month and over a year that adds up to be $600 in emails alone). In a nutshell, Sewspire Patrons, would pledge $5 per month and in turn receive exclusive Patron benefits to include:

--A free advance PDF copy of all future written sewing tutorials I create well before the rest of the world can buy them.

--A link to a private weekly vlog recorded exclusively for Patrons and chockfull of sewing inspiration.

--Access to a monthly live chat, reserved for Patrons only, where we can hangout as a group and talk about anything you like for 30 minutes or so.

--My sincere gratitude.

If that sounds like fun to you or you would like more information, I invite you to checkout the Sewspire Patreon Page

I am pleased to present you with this week's sewing tutorial for a Large Press Lock Purse which can be customized in a variety of ways to suit your personal taste. While I love it as shown, I do think it would be super sassy with a nice short shoulder strap too! I hope you enjoy it and will share photos of your finished bags with me on Instagram and Sewspire using #sewspire and @sewspire or join our group page and post all of your Sewspire creations in one spot!

I will be back next week with a "surprise" project and shall be looking forward to sharing more details throughout the week.

Until then, please know the creative genius in me will be celebrating the creative genius in you!

XO,
Andrea
