TWO Sunday morning worship services
9:15 am and 11:00 am

One hundred and six. That's a great number. It's the number of adults here at Greenbelt who have signed up to be a part of a LifeGroup. Add to that that the nearly 40 teenagers who participate in small groups at Fusion Youth and we have a lot of possibly for life change this year!

I say this regularly because I truly believe it - spiritual growth happens best in the context of community. We grow in our faith by how we learn to love God and each other through meaningful relationships with others in the church. I can look back on my 20 years that I've been a Christian and every single major change God has brought me through was done with other people walking closely with me. Every time.

It's not too late to Find Yours! You can check out the list of LifeGroups in our church app or at the church on Sunday morning. The series we are starting this week, What Would Jesus Undo, is going to be really good... but it will be even better when you discuss it and apply it to your life in a LifeGroup.

I truly hope you will find yours this year.

Looking forward to worshiping with you this Sunday.
Pastor Kevin

MISSIONS DINNER SATURDAY OCTOBER 20
(SERVICE OPPORTUNITY)

The Missions Ministry will kick-off the Ministry year with an
Awareness and Fundraising dinner at the church
Saturday, October 20 at 6pm.

We know from our survey some time ago that there is a heart for Missions at Greenbelt, but that there is a lack of awareness of who our Missionaries are, what they are doing, and how we as a church are supporting them.

So please keep the date to come and find out about and to support Missions at Greenbelt.

We intend to have a silent auction opportunity to help with the fundraising.  So, the first thing we need is items and services to be offered in a silent auction.

Please consider what you might contribute to a silent auction: art, crafts, quilting, baskets of food etc., gift cards for just about anything (restaurants, services, groceries, etc.), your own services or services from friends and family that you could organize.

Connect with your items or suggestions to Ina and Jim McCuaig
(613-741-4022, mccuaigiandj@rogers.com)

More information next week, and through your Life Groups!

Missions Update

Dear partners with us here in Asia

In several of our letters to you, we have talked about Jun, Nanami and Riku, friends who have been part of two of our outreach groups here in Tokyo (I've included some pictures below, from our Christmas party last year - Jun is seated in the first picture). Nanami has also been a faithful part of the Happy Mom's craft and Bible Study group that Elaine leads on Thursday.

Last Friday Elaine rushed up to my office to tell me that our friend Jun had passed away. Jun was 43 and had suffered a massive heart attack. The days following, including a viewing on Sunday, have been a bit of a blur.  We are heartbroken for Nanami and Riku.

We know that Jun heard the gospel many times. Sadly he always introduced himself as someone who wasn't a Christian, but who appreciated Christians "who had been very kind".  Only God knows the state of his heart when he slipped into eternity.

Thank-you for praying for Nanami and Riku who is only eight years old. Please pray for Elaine as she  leads the women through the grief of Nanami and Riku's loss.

in Jesus

Once again, the Fusion youth group is heading to Toronto for the Change Conference hosted by the Canadian Youth Network. This is a two-day conference which exists to inspire and equip teenagers towards a strong and lasting faith in Christ.

These weekends often have great impact for students and we want as many as possible to experience them regardless of financial circumstances.

The cost to send a student this year is $170, which includes bus transportation, 2 nights hotel with hot breakfasts and 2-day conference pass. If you are in a position to sponsor or partially sponsor a student, please contact the youth director (jen@fusionyouth.ca) as soon as possible.

Thank you for your generosity!

Fusion Youth exists to encourage, equip, and engage junior and senior high students in life, faith and community. Come and find your place with us!

We meet on Wednesday evenings through the school year.  For more info or to get connected, contact the youth director, Jen Outhouse at jen@fusionyouth.ca or by calling 613-293-0639.

Fusion also needs the support of our church family! If you wish to volunteer as a mentor, provide a snack for our students one night, or to sponsor a student for upcoming retreats and conferences, please contact the youth director.
