BOOKINGS OPEN
 10th Florence Workshop 29 April - 16 May 2019
We have opened the books for  2019 - and the class is filling fast. 2019 will be our 10th Creative Printmaking class in Florence  at the  historic Il Bisonte Studio and to celebrate we are also having an exhibition in Il Bisonte gallery.  Read more about this workshop.
I am putting Fine Art Inks through their paces and they are pretty impressive.

To roll up the waterless litho plate I used the ink straight from the tube, I also used the Fine Art Inks with a little of their  Smooth Wipe for the  colours on the collagraph plate. Printed the collagraph plate first then the waterless plate upside down over the collagraph print.  See the print on the right above with the 2 plates on the left. The collagraph plate was made by offsetting the image from a waste print of the plate onto a metal plate  and adding the acrylic mediums such as gesso, pastel primer for tooth and gloss varnish. Because the image is offset you can see exactly where to add colour to your collagraph plate.

Some of the excellent features of these inks are, the intense colour, their adaptability - use for intaglio/relief and waterless litho, the ability to stay open on the glass for an extended period and no awful smell! And they are made in Australia. Clean up is easily done with baby oil followed by a quick degrease.

More info on the new Studio colours coming soon but in the meantime if you wish to order any of their excellent range of basic colours direct from the manufacturer Angus, his contact details and colour charts can be found here.

                                                                        Cheers, Annie
