At NewVIc we know that sometimes things can happen in our lives that mean we find it hard to concentrate or sleep or eat or manage our feelings.

Counselling is the opportunity to sit down one-to-one with someone and speak confidentially about what is going on in your world and get some support in working it out and understanding yourself and others.

Mental health advice for students in college

Hi I'm Aniké Clarke,

As the mental health adviser in the college, I will be supporting students who are experiencing mental health difficulties through a range of therapeutic interventions.

The main areas I will cover are: anxiety (panic attacks), depression, stress, self-harm, early psychosis, suicidal ideation, eating disorders as well as the encouragement of positive emotional wellbeing overall.

I have a drop in slot in B212 at lunchtimes 1-2pm except on Tuesdays. This space is for students to come and see me and ask any question that may have.

A huge congratulations to Level 2 Art & Design student Tanvir winning a prestigious award for promising artist at the Royal Drawing School.

The Young Artist Exhibition is a rare opportunity for young artists to show their work in a professionally curated public exhibition space, well done Tanvir!

The exhibition is open until Friday 28 September at Charlotte Road EC1, Shoreditch, go check it out!

100% design

NewVIc Art and Design students visited Olympia for the annual 100% Design exhibition showcasing current commercial and independent designer companies. Students had the opportunity to network with professionals and meet ground breaking British designer Thomas Heatherwick!
