Solo workshop with Kim Porter
Every Sunday from 6:30-9:30pm
$15 per sesson

Do you need something meaningful to do between acting gigs? Do you have a story you are itching to tell? Let award-winning writer/performer Kim Porter help you make that happen at the Solo Workshop.

This workshop is designed to help participants generate new material, support projects already in development, and offer accountability in a relaxed and generous small group environment. The Solo Workshop is designed to meet the participant where they are and is therefore ideal for both beginners and established writer-performers. Because the Solo Workshop is employing an on-going, drop-in model for participation, artists can work at their own pace and budget.

For more information about the Solo Workshop contact Kim Porter at kim@kimporter.net

Featured Performer:
Laurie Shellebarger
Laurie has been improvising since 2011. Her first introduction to improv was short form and wanted to try it. She started doing long form after her husband Shane got involved. She loves the story telling aspect of improv. She enjoys the formats that focus on character and relationships. For Laurie the best thing about improv is the ability to create a rich reality with scenery, characters, themes, and relationships with her teammates.

Favorite quote/advice from a coach/instructor:
Go for real, not for funny. The funny will happen because life is funny.   Discover, don't invent.

You can see Laurie perform with:
 New Heart every 4th Saturday.
She will also be teaching the free intro to improv workshop Sunday, October 21st from 2-4pm.

Featured Performer: Liz Hutchman
Liz has been improvising since 2001. She has taken influences from every improviser she has met or worked with. Her style of play can change daily but loves the Armando format. Her favorite thing about improv is that there is no end. Every time she does it she wants to do it again. Liz loves the way the community has grown and how there are many opportunities to play as opposed to when she started playing which was mainly "bar-prov".

Favorite quote/advice from a coach/instructor:
Keep things simple. Talk less and react more. Listen to your scenes using all of your senses and respond to the last thing said.

You can see Liz perform with:
Skewed News Hour every Friday
Zombie Gourmet every 1st Saturday
Birds and Broads every 3rd Saturday
Featured team every first Saturday

Zombie Gourmet

Cast: Andrew Bernier, Eric Storie, Jackie Rich and Liz Hutchman

Zombie Gourmet dishes up an organic buffet of brainy bits, relying on flexibility, support, high energy and feeding off of each other to shape their shows.

Composed of stylistically diverse and dynamic troupe members, well seasoned like hand-me-down cast iron, ZG marches ceaselessly toward the lights in their ravenous pursuit of comedy.

Long form full of bizarre worlds, pulsating organs, and lightly braised transitions, the Zombie Gourmet format explores the soft, fleshy, delicious parts of improv.
