VOLLEYBALL: (6-8, 1-2 GSC): Emma Lenoir pounded a school-record 34 kills — the most in the nation in one match this season — to lead the Lady Bucs to a five-set win at Union Tuesday night in the Gulf South Conference opener for both squads. On Friday, visiting Alabama Huntsville rallied for a five-set win over the Lady Bucs. On Saturday, the Lady Bucs rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force a decisive fifth set, but visiting Montevallo claimed a five-set win. The Lady Bucs hit the road Thursday night for a 6:00 p.m. match at West Alabama. Their next home match is Saturday, Sept. 22, at 1:00 p.m. as they host Mississippi College. Full schedule…
CROSS COUNTRY: The CBU cross country teams returned to action in the Rhodes College Invitational Saturday, with the Bucs finishing eighth of 21 teams while the Lady Bucs were ninth of 20 teams. Johanna Wistokat paced the Lady Bucs with a 12th-place finish of 23:40 on the women's 6k course. Jack Goodwin led the Bucs with a 20th-place finish of 26:57 on the men's 8k course.
