We've had a hiatus over the summer - recovering from our big #NHS70Stroud event, but are hoping to return to monthly meetings. These are open to anyone who supports our aims to challenge local and national cuts and privatisation.

On the agenda will be:

Taking stock of the #NHS70Stroud event
Making a film from footage of the NHS birthday event
Discussion of the Gloucestershire NHS "Integrated Care System"
Discussion of Gloucestershire plans for specialist stroke rehabilitation
Updates regarding the HOLD campaign
Discussion of capacity and plans for the year ahead

1. Tomorrow, Saturday 15th September, is the Swindon Radical Bookfair (1-5pm, social 5-7pm).

2. Guess who the new chair of NHS England is? Worryingly, it’s Lord Prior... the man who was behind an attempt to undermine a tax-funded NHS a couple of years ago - and who has said “We need more competition to drive up standards of care; more entrants into the market from private-sector companies, the voluntary sector and other care providers.” ... Coincidentally, "NHS bosses urge hospitals to send patients to private firms"
