5 things to be cheerful about this week...

Good morning! I'm back after a week at Rydal, cooking for the 5-day residential art classes my mum Annie Herron teaches, and while it was a great chance to test and practise lots of new recipes, like these sourdough potato buns above (recipe coming), I am cheerful to be home again, and back at my desk to play catch ups.

But first...here are a few quick things below for us to read, do, listen to and plan to cook this week...

This letter display

I don't have a cafe or shop but would really like this letter display at home please.

This workshop in Byron Bay

Does the idea of a couple of days in the Byron Bay hinterland learning all things social media, visual storytelling and digital marketing tick your boxes? The fabulous Kate Walsh and I would LOVE you to join us at our new workshop The Social Club, which is going to be so much more than just one weekend of workshops, shared meals, drinks on the beach and new friends, it's the beginning of new collaborations, a new network and CONFIDENCE to go out there and tell your story, confidently share your thing and grow a community of advocates around your biz.

The workshop is going to be held at Newrybar (Byron hinterland) October 13/14. All the details over here Image by Patricia Niven.

This condiment

Tangy, spicy, crunchy and addictive - this chile crisp is going to find its way onto many a meal in my house from now on.

Also quite keen to make this slow cooker miso corn soup. And these roasted mandarins with ginger custard. And these tray bake meatballs with tomatoes and chickpeas.

This artist

Whose peaceful, so very realistic pastel works are balm for the eyes.

These playlists

While I don't have many podcasts to recommend this week (as spent most of last listening to an audio book), have been listening some good music (well I think so - you may wildly disagree), and thought i'd share some current favourite playlists.

  • This one is quite fun; pop it on when getting ready to go out or needing to jump around the living room a bit.
  • This is a gorgeous, cheerful collection of tunes.
  • This is a good playlist to pop on when you need to boss up and need a little confidence injection (not for everyone I'm sure and a few rude words in here so not for kidlets).
  • And this one is a goodie to have on in the background when friends come over for drinks or dins.
