PORTSMOUTH, VA | September 15, 2018 | TruthPR.com | -- Virginia Nonprofit to Serve Professionally Prepared Meals in Wilmington, N.C.
PORTSMOUTH, Va., Sept. 14, 2018 – Mercy Chefs, a Virginia-based disaster relief and humanitarian aid organizationthat serves professionally prepared, restaurant-quality meals in emergencies and natural disasters, will deploy its team of professional chefs to Wilmington, N.C., to feed victims, volunteers and first responders of Hurricane Florence on Saturday.
“We have been preparing for Hurricane Florence all week, not knowing whether we would be serving people in our back yard here in Virginia or helping out in North or South Carolina,” said Gary LeBlanc, president and founder of Mercy Chefs. “Our team of professional chefs and volunteers soon will be serving restaurant-quality meals to those in need, hoping to restore their hope and provide comfort at a time when they need it most.”
Mercy Chefs, which recently has responded to the Carr fires (25,000 meals), Houston floods and Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, will set up at Life Point Church (3534 S. College Road, Suite A, Wilmington, NC 28412) and begin full meal service Sunday. LeBlanc will lead an experienced team of chefs and volunteers that will work out of two mobile kitchens and also make use of a delivery vehicle and a refrigerated box truck. Mercy Chefs has the capacity to serve 13,000 meals a day as needed.
