Let's Get Lakeshore DANCING
Did you know the whole school gets an extended dance party if we reach our $64,000 fundraising goal? Let’s make it happen! Get those donations in!

WHERE ARE WE?
Nine classes have reached 20% participation, nine other classes are between 10-20% participation, and all classes are now participating. We’re off to a good start but we need to move it if we’re going to move it! We’re recommending a pledge of $2.77 per student per school day (a total of $500), but any amount is appreciated!

CURRENT CLASS STANDINGS
The competition is heating up, so keep going! Your class could win a Principal's Pizza Party.

Participation: Ms. Tyler (29%), Ms. Hopper (32%), Ms. Angela (41%)

Donations: Ms. Angela (K), Ms. Hopper (1), Mr. Joseph (2), Mr. McCauslin (3), Ms. Chan (4-5), Ms. Klein (SDC)

ASK YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY
Last year, we reduced the number of annual donation requests. To make up for that, please broaden our reach by asking friends, family, and coworkers. It's easy to share this special Friends and Family form or the Annual Giving Campaign Facebook post. Be sure to repeat the online link bit.ly/lsagcdon at the top of your own post. One motivated Lakeshore family has worked their network to receive donations from SIXETEEN different people so far, and several families have three or four donors for their children! It's doable; just ask.

REQUEST A MATCHING DONATION
Last year, we received over $7000 from employer matching. We can do the same or better this year. If you have an employer who matches donations, please fill out their form to request a matching donation. It's free money for our school; don't let it slip away! We are counting employer matching donations towards class totals, even though they are not yet received. If you are applying for a match and haven't indicated that on your donation form, please email pta@LakeshoreElementary.org and tell us so we can add it to your class total, and then fill out your paperwork right away!

DONATE TODAY
Return the red envelope to the office or your teacher. Extra forms are on the main bulletin board. Look for our Wednesday donation collectors at pickup to turn in your envelope or donate on the spot. Or skip the paper and donate online at bit.ly/lsagcdon.

SHOW YOUR SPIRIT
Show your support for the school and the Annual Giving Campaign with Crazy Hat or Hair Day this Friday, and School Colors Day on October 5.
Spirit Friday #3 of 4:
Crazy Hair or Hat Day

This Friday, 9/28 is Crazy Hat or Hair Day, our third Spirit Friday during the Annual Giving Campaign! Get creative, have fun and show your school spirit! Check out some ideas for inspiration!

The following week is School Colors Day. Need Lakeshore Spirit gear? Let us know on this form by Monday, 10/1 and we'll coordinate by 10/2.
Order Lakeshore Spirit Gear

We have hoodies, baseball shirts, short-sleeve t-shirts, and other spirit gear items for sale to help you show your Lakeshore Leopard pride! Get ready for School Colors Spirit Friday on 10/5—order by Monday 10/1. See options and place an order at our website. Orders will be filled once or twice a week. Can you help deliver spirit gear? Email volunteer@LakeshoreElementary.org.
Noriega Produce Gives Back
Do you shop at Noriega Produce, Gus's Community Market, or Haight Street Market? Then sign up for their scrip program here. After you sign up, just provide your phone number at checkout at any of those three stores, and Lakeshore gets 6% back!

Thank you to Laura Batie for signing Lakeshore up and the Vardakastanis family, who runs the Gus's Community Market stores and is a Lakeshore family!
Walk & Roll to School Day: Wednesday, October 10!

Walk, bike, take transit, or carpool
to school! It's good exercise, and it helps kids connect with our neighborhoods and communities. Also a great way to sneak in some family time on the way to school. There will be a "bike train" coming from the Outer Sunset. The route is easily reached by multiple MUNI lines. Email Chris McCarthy (exoplanet@gmail.com) for details.

Fun activities and prizes! Check out sfsaferoutes.org for more information about this city-wide event. Please sign up at bit.ly/ls18walkroll if you can help out.
Lakeshore Hosting Co-op K Night: October 1 (5-9pm)
Lakeshore will be hosting Co-op Nursery School Kindergarten Night on Monday, Oct. 1 (5-9pm) again this year to showcase public, private, and parochial schools to co-op families looking for Kindergartens. It's a great way to represent and show off our school to other co-op parents while earning money for the PTA.

Last year we hosted a Make-Your-Own-Taco Bar, bake sale, and coffee sale, and made over $500 for the PTA! Please consider signing up to make food, talk with prospective parents, or work the event in food sales, set up, or clean up. Anyone can volunteer but if you have co-op connections, that personal, familiar face at the table makes all the difference.

Please sign up to volunteer at bit.ly/ls18coop or email Dara Dubosky with questions.
Help with Lakeshore Tours
Do you love Lakeshore and want to show others how special we are? The Tours team is looking for enthusiastic families to assist with school tours starting October 10. No special skills required. Enthusiasm is more important than the time spent at Lakeshore. Kinder families are especially useful in helping incoming families with the decision process. If you can assist, please email tours@lakeshoreelementary.org.
PTA Fest: October 11 (6-8pm)
Come learn more about Lakeshore's three main enrichment programs that your PTA fundraising dollars pay for. Enjoy a Studio Art project with Sharon Collins, get moving in Motor Perception with Marlene Bazdrich, and check out the Garden and Bungalow that Martha Luna and Jean Butler use to teach our kids about science and nature.

It'll be a lovely evening showcase in the garden with live music and light hors d'oeuvres. Come and meet our extremely dedicated team of Program Consultants who help to make Lakeshore the well-rounded school that we are. Contact Harper Honan at harper.honan@gmail.com if you can assist!
