TERM 3  - WEEK 9 - 2018

From the Principal's Desk

This week is the final full week of classes for both of our year groups for this term. Next week the term will culminate with two significant events. Our Year 11 students will complete a week of exam assessments marking the end of their Preliminary studies. Whilst all of our VET courses are assessed across the full two years, there are still a number of subjects which will have their Preliminary assessments completed with these exams.

Importantly, next week we will celebrate the finalisation of 13 years of formal classes for our Year 12 students. We will mark this event with our Final Assembly on Wednesday, 26th at 9.15am. The Assembly will be a chance to reward students for their work in their final year and to farewell them from formal classes. There will still be significant work for some of our students beyond next week in completing competencies and HSC exams. I am looking forward to celebrating with students and families this significant milestone.

Assistant Principal's Message

Year 12 Final Assembly
Congratulations to our Year 12 students who will celebrate their Year 12 Final Assembly next Wednesday 26 September. It is hard to believe that the Assembly represents their final official ‘school day’ as they will only return next term for their Higher School Certificate (HSC) Examinations. The Assembly is one of the great community events on the College calendar and I look forward to sharing this significant occasion with any families of Year 12 students that are able to attend.

Preliminary HSC Examinations
Good luck to all of our Year 11 students who will commence their Preliminary HSC Examinations on Monday and will conclude on Friday 28 September. Students have exams in all courses other than Industry Based Learning, so it will be a busy week for all. Students have been receiving information about the exams for some time now and all students have a copy of the exam timetable. It is extremely important that all students read the timetable carefully and ensure that they are punctual for all exams there is no provision for additional time if a student is late for an examination.

A reminder to families that it is compulsory for all Year 11 students to be in attendance for the Year 12 Final Assembly and the Values & Ethics Examination on Wednesday 26 September.

Have a great weekend.
