See You at the Pole!
St. John School students will be participating in a national student-led prayer movement entitled, See You at the Pole. Students across the country in both private and public schools will be gathering at their school flag poles to do one simple act - PRAY.

Everyday this week, SJS students will have the opportunity to gather at our school's flag pole at 7:40 AM to pray for our school and our nation.  All are welcome.

SEE YOU AT THE POLE!
Professional Development Day
School will not be in session on Monday, September 17th due to faculty professional development.

ALICE Training

As a demonstration of our commitment to the safety and security of all students and adults, Saint John's faculty and staff were recently certified in ALICE Basic Training. ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate) is the nation's leader in preparing everyone with pro-active, options-based strategies for a violent intruder event, while remaining age and ability-appropriate. ALICE Training uses a blended model of eLearning and hands-on training by ALICE Certified Instructors for long-term learning retention. Faculty and staff recently participated and completed six eLearning training modules: ALICE Introduction, Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate.

On Monday, September 17th, for Saint John's level two ALICE participation and eventual institutional certification, the faculty and staff will participate in hands-on training lead by our very own Mr. Robert Dlwgosh. Mr. Dlwgosh recently participated in a multi-day workshop certifying him to be an official ALICE instructor.

We thank you for your continued support as we work to ensure the safety of all entrusted to the care of the Saint John School family.

Herald Athletic Announcements

Reminder App for Athletics
Mr. Nick Iarocci, athletic director, is setting up "Reminder App" for parents of each fall sports team.  He will be using the email addresses that we have on file.  In this way he can send out a message to parents with any last minute news for that particular team.  He set up the cheerleaders last week as a test group and will be setting up the other groups shortly.  Reminder App is free and some of our teachers use this or a similar app.  The school web site also has all of the athletic contests listed under events.  Nick asks for your patience as he gets all the teams set up correctly and begins to use the App.

Student Lunch Accounts
Beginning this school year, we have integrated our lunch system with our student information system, *FACTS/Renweb. You are now able to make tuition payments, check on your child's classroom performance and place money on your child's lunch accounts all from the parent portal (Parentsweb) in FACTS/Renweb.

To begin loading your child's lunch account with funds, please login to Parentsweb. Once in Parentsweb, you will have a list of options on the left-hand side of the screen. To see all of your current school accounts, choose the FACTS option (last option on left-hand side). To add cafeteria funds, simply click the option ADD FUNDS under your cafeteria account. You may still send in checks or cash to the school office.

*Please note that FACTS has purchased Renweb. Beginning in October, Renweb will be known as FACTS. This will have no effect upon your current accounts. We just want you to be aware of the name change to avoid confusion.
