A coach’s responsibility: learning how to prepare athletes for peak performance.
 The coaching profession is ever-changing and coaches at each level of sport  competition need to know more than just the Xs and Os in order to be successful.

Pacing has been characterized as a multifaceted goal-directed process of decision making in which athletes need to decide how and when to invest their energy during the race, a process essential for optimal performance.

 "You're not born with talent" talented girls' and boys' perceptions of their talents as football players.

 Generally in sports, there is a strong assumption of a connection between skill level in young age and adulthood.
 

Sports Training and Water Breaks

Core temperature and sweat responses in professional women's tennis players during tournament play in the heat.
Tennis is often played in hot, humid environments, intensifying the thermoregulatory strain placed on the athletes. As a safety measure, some tennis organizations allow for a 10-minute break in play between the second and third sets when environmental conditions are extreme. However, the actual effect of these breaks in reducing core temperature is unknown.

 Fluid consumption and sweating in National Football League and collegiate football players with different access to fluids during practice.
 Considerable controversy regarding fluid replacement during exercise currently exists.

Impaired walking increases injury risk during locomotion, including falls-related acute injuries and over use damage to lower limb joints. Gait impairments seriously restrict voluntary, habitual engagement in injury prevention activities, such as recreational walking and exercise.

The effects of protein supplementation on performance recovery and inflammatory responses during a simulated one-week in-season microcycle with two games (G1, G2) performed three days apart were examined.

 There is a growing interest in Nordic walking both from the fitness and medical point of views due to its possible therapeutic applications.The proper execution of the technique is an essential requirement to maximize the benefits of this practice.

 Advancement in location-aware technologies, and information and communication technology in the past decades has furthered our knowledge of the interaction between human activities and the built environment.

Long Term Athlete Development

The adolescent athlete: a developmental approach to injury risk.
With the advent of long-term athlete development programs and early sport specialization, the training of elite athletes now spans the period of adolescence.

Coaches' perceptions of the use of chronological and biological age in the identification and development of talented athletes.
Coaches and practitioners recognize that talent identification and development have a crucial role in the pursuit of excellence.

Long-term athlete development follows seven stages
To implement the LTAD model, people must fully understand the seven stages.
 Administrators, coaches, and parents should also remember that moving from one stage to another is based on the athlete’s development and not just chronological age; however, chronological age can be used as a guide.


Practical application for long-term athletic development.
Developing a comprehensive long-term athletic development program in the United States is critical. The program must start at the youth level.This article will focus on ages 3–14 years. The following information is for coaches, parents, and sport organization directors.

Effects of sport-specific training during the early stages of long-term athlete development on physical fitness, body composition, cognitive, and academic performance.
 Introduction: Several sports demand an early start into long-term athlete development (LTAD) because peak performances are achieved at a relatively young age (e.g., gymnastics).
