Sharing autumnal news...

Hoping you all had the chance to enjoy lovely summers... it definitely feels like autumn now, and we wanted to share what's been happening at Create Sheffield, and why we'd gone a bit quiet.
1. Becoming Legal
Early in July, we hit a small snag in the set up of Create Sheffield and realised that the only way around it was to set Create Sheffield up as a Not for Profit company, rather than staying as a partnership.  So, that's what our summer has been full of... no sunshine for us - just legal forms, paperwork, Articles of Association and Companies House!

And we're nearly there.

By mid October we expect to be a legal entity with a new Board structure.  It's been long and tedious and has meant that all of our autumn plans have been put on hold.  AND once it's done, we will be in the right place to go full steam ahead, which is great.

We hope that explains our 'pause' button being on, and we now look forward to emerging from the process of building our legal framework, so that we can do what we are here to do.
2. Sheffield, City of Young Makers
Because of Becoming Legal (see no.1, above), our hoped-for autumn City of Young Makers calendar hasn't materialised.  (There's some legal stuff to sort around this one too.)

We very much hope that in November we can get back to gathering information from across the city about what is happening throughout 2019, as well as three weeks of focused city-wide celebration from 15th June to 6th July 2019.

If you have information to share about the wonderful things you are planning for young people now that your programming is shaping up for 2019, let us know so we can include you in the calendar: createsheffieldinfo@gmail.com
3. Sheffield Adventures
The Sheffield Adventures sub group has managed to keep meeting this summer, and is making good progress.  We now have a hugely long list of all of the wonderful things to do around Sheffield, and are in the process of categorising them.  We've discovered this is harder than it sounds!  And we hope to have a first draft list to begin testing before too long.
Get in touch if you fancy being a tester.
4. Schools and CPD
Learn Sheffield

We are delighted to report that Create Sheffield has been included as part of Learn Sheffield's new Subscription offer. As a result of this we have guaranteed connection with all schools and colleges in the city that are signed up, and we will be delivering things like our CPD programme alongside Learn Sheffield.
5. Get your info in the newsletter
I plan to send out the next newsletter on the 19th October, so please send me anything you'd like included by the 16th October.
