Rolling in Rock Hill

Tenative: Saturday, October 6. The rescheduled date is dependent on the homeowners availability and the teams availability. Seeing as how our mission statement is:

"Our mission is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership."

I think is time that we take another step forward in our community involvement by being a partner in the Rolling In Rock Hill project. This past winter we did have some involvement in the painting of Mr. Stewarts home on Charlotte Avenue and all those who showed up to help that help was certainly appreciated. But now we have an opportunity to put the 3rd F into practice and work along side two other organizations on Saturday, October 6 from about 8 AM until noon. We will have the opportunity to work with Keck & Wood and the City of Rock Hill Human Resources Department. This is a great opportunity for us to be present in the community in force and also to be visible to some other men who may not understand that F3 is not just another workout group that we are so much more than that. It is time for us as HIM to lead by example and be "Committed" to our community. Please if you can contact Chuckie at vkenney@stjohnsrh.org and let him know that you can help with this project.

September Word of the Month

Septembers word of the month is "Mark." What kind of mark to you want to leave on this earth after God calls you home?

As you all probably know I (Chuckie) am a lifelong Methodist and serve as the Youth Pastor at St. John's UMC in Rock Hill. A little history of the Methodist Church: John and Charles Wesley founded the Methodist Church, although that was not their intention at all. They were Anglican Priest and wanted to start a small group but it evolved into the Methodist Church and eventually the United Methodist Church in 1969. Charles Wesley is said to have written between 6,000 and 9,000 hymns while his brother John was the preacher. One of the sayings that John Wesley had is one I try to live by daily and I think is a great one for all of us to live by whether you are Methodist, Baptist, Episcopal, Presbyterian, Catholic, Mormon or no religious affiliation at all. It goes like this:

"Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can."

So what kind of "Mark" are you making daily in the lives of others? Your family, your church, your F3 brothers, your community, your country and even your world? Let us as believers strive to leave a mark that leaves the imprint of Jesus Christ's teachings, life and love to all we come in contact with. Let's be the Hands and Feet of Jesus Christ because we are the only hands and feet of Christ on this earth.
