Save Money
Spending Freeze
No-spend challenges pop up regularly across the web. They range from one day to one year. Seriously, who could go for a YEAR without spending anything?
Instead, clever Lydia from the Frugal Debt-free Life website suggests
1. Two weeks of NO spending. No eating out, no hitting up the coffee place, no going to stores, even the thrift store. Nothing.
2. Eating from the pantry, with a strict set dollar amount for fresh produce and milk.
3. Designate a place to put that saved cash.

Organize
Clean Slate
Sometimes you just need to dump stuff.
A huge, "Congratulations!" to my sister for doing that. After storing other peoples' things in her garage and basement for years, she needed to reclaim her space. She and her hubby rented a dumpster and tossed out years worth of accumulated items. Enjoy parking in your garage, you two tidy lovebirds!
Simplify
Tossing Children's Artwork
An article in The Atlantic suggests throwing out ALL your children's art. While it would simplify clean up time, my heart screams, "No!"
My suggestion--give the children a special space to display their work. Refrigerator, cork board, etc. Allow them to choose what they want to display. When they create new art, they take the old off and dispose of it. Give them one small box (not a refrigerator-sized one) to save their extra-special art.
The children will learn decision-making skills, and you're not the bad guy throwing away their lovingly crafted objects. Double win.
