As Senai moves into its second decade of ministry, we want to build on the foundation laid over the past 10 years, and focus even more on equipping and empowering the local church to reach others for Christ.  I have experienced three generations of God’s faithfulness in Ethiopia, and want to strategically continue the mission of “connecting people to purpose” where God is at work. I want to see the local church in Ethiopia bring reconciliation in a broken country, and be the next generation to send missionaries across the country and around the world.  I need YOU to help make this happen! How exciting to be part of transforming a nation for Christ that will in turn make ripple effects across Africa and the world. Senai wants to be a catalyst for business professionals, pastors, teachers, and leaders to leverage their gifts and talents for Kingdom purposes.
Blessed friends!  Solomon Legesse and Asfaw Bedecha!

Ethiopia

I have recently returned from Ethiopia, where there is a new freedom in the air.  With a new Prime Minister in office, people want to see change. We pray now for peace as many groups are flexing their muscles in order to be heard and recognized after decades of oppression.  This is a liberating time, but brings with it the challenge of moving forward in peace. I pray the local church will rise up to address the recent uprisings and lead with ‘shalom’.

Projects and Meetings in Ethiopia

I was able to meet with the US Ambassador and his team in Addis Ababa.   It was an honor to bring with me Asfaw Bedecha, pastor, entrepreneur, and beloved friend of our family from Yirgacheffe.  We shared with the US Government team the history of our work in Southern Ethiopia, and Senai’s vision to continue that work by empowering the local church.  We talked about the Coffee Lodge, Dairy Business, and Specialty Coffee work we have started. We explained that it would be the goal of these enterprises to fund education and Senai projects.  This was very well received and the Ambassador’s office helped us make fantastic connections with USAID and other NGO’s working in those sectors. They can’t wait to visit the Coffee Lodge when it is completed!

Hanna's Orphan Home, Ethiopia

I was also able to spend some special time with Hanna and all of her kids in the Orphan Home in Addis.  It was encouraging to see how much she has done with so few resources. Her passion for orphans is always a reminder of Christ’s love for us, an unconditional love that we don’t deserve.  We would love to come alongside Hanna and help her build an amazing center for all the orphans in her care. We have the land, and now the government is requiring that we build a permanent building on the site in order to maintain possession.  This is an amazing platform to impact kids for Christ. Please pray about how you can be involved.

Climb For A Purpose:  Kilimanjaro 2019 “Legacy”

This charity climb is going to be epic!  We are looking at the dates of Oct 10-20, 2019 and are assembling a team of 10 courageous people who want to “climb for a purpose.”  We have a limited number of spaces left, so please pray about joining our team and contact me soon. This trip will have the theme of “Legacy”.  How can we honor God with the legacy he has entrusted to us and/or the legacy He is building through us? Please email info@senaiglobal.org

Our girls are growing up so fast!  I took them on a "daddy date" to the local open air market in Stellenbosch, South Africa, so fun!
