New Business Development Advisor at NPTC Group of Colleges

NPTC Group of Colleges has recently welcomed Karen Harris-Vernon as their latest Business Development Advisor. Based at Newtown college, Karen will be engaging with local Powys and Ceredigion businesses across all sectors, and working to build relationships to help identify employer and workforce development needs, and provide training solutions and business support, including funding opportunities.

This is a positive step as the college seeks further to understand the needs of business and work with course tutors and lecturers, Pathways team and assessors to provide courses and training which are relevant, timely and cost effective.

Karen’s background is in business and training development, area management, sales and customer care. She has worked all over the country and is happy now to be working within a few short miles of her home just south of Newtown. 

Karen will be at the next college open evening in Brecon on Wed 26th Sept and in Newtown on Thurs 27th Sept from 1630-1930 so why not pop along to Reception to meet her, have a chat and have a look around the college’s facilities? For this meeting we will be joined by two successful local businesses who will provide us with their stories. Compact Orbital Gears, suppliers of bespoke high speed aerospace and motorsport gearbox and test rig applications who have been located in Rhayader for over 40 years will be looking at the challenges and benefits of working for an SME, and Charlies Stores, one of the largest independent retailers in Wales, who have been operating for nearly 30 years will look at the changing face of retail and their move into e-commerce.
