Meet our new member

The IAEH network in Asia grows as Taichung City becomes a member.
Taichung City Logo
Taichung City is the second largest city in Taiwan. It offers well-priced culinary delights, assorted shopping areas and arts performances, making it well worth a visit. In 2018, Taichung City Government plays host to the 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition for the first time. Next year, the 2019 East Asian Youth Games will be hosted by Taichung City.

Members' Events Calendar

New tab on the IAEH website shows list of members' events.
Calendar of Members' Events
The top menu of the IAEH website now features a Calendar tab under which you will find the Members' Events Calendar. The PDF document available to download shows the events our members are involved in hosting in 2018. The 2019 calendar will be released in November. Members are encouraged to send their calendars of events to Olga Correia at olga@eventhosts.org
UCI Road World Championships
IAEH meeting and tour of the cycling event in Innsbruck, Austria.
UCI Road World Champ
The city of Innsbruck will be hosting the 2018 UCI Road World Championships between the 22nd and 30th of September 2018. IAEH member Innsbruck-Tirol Sports invites fellow members to visit the city and participate in a day of activities including a meeting with presentations by the host city and tickets to one of the UCI Road World Championships' events. The IAEH activities in Innsbruck are being planned for the 24th of September
Impacts Workshop
The IAEH Workshop is confirmed to take place at the Beau-Rivage Palace Hotel in Lausanne on the 31st of October.

Beau-Rivage Hotel
IAEH members will gather in Lausanne for a workshop on the topic of "measuring impacts of hosting major events". The workshop will kick off at 2:30 pm with presentations by IAEH directors and guest speakers on all key areas of event impacts. Following that, participants will take part in round table discussions about key performance indicators related to proposed areas of impact. The workshop will end at 4:30 pm after feedback from each round table. The feedback will contribute to the publication of the first set of standard definitions for event impacts by the end of the year.
The workshop will be open to Smart Cities & Sport Summit's delegates. Representatives from Canada, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, the UK and the US have already confirmed attendance.
Translation of OECD Recommendations
The IAEH has been working with the OECD to grow awareness on the new Recommendation for Global Events and Local Development.

OECD and IAEH
The IAEH and the OECD are encouraging members to help translate the OECD Recommendation to other languages making it more accessible internationally. The document was approved and published in May 2018 with the support of a wide group of stakeholders, including the IAEH. It is currently available for download in French and in English. If you are interested in translating the Recommendation, please let us know!
This work of the OECD will also be part of the IAEH Workshop in Lausanne on the 31st of October.
