"I treasure your word in my heart..."

This Sunday we continue our special series called, "The Way of Love: Practices for Jesus-Centred Life".

The practice we'll be exploring this week is "LEARN: reflect on Scripture each day, especially on Jesus' life and teachings."

Both the Jewish and the Christian traditions we inherit, place a high value on learning from God's word, to live God's ways. In Psalm 119:1-40, the psalmist sings praise and thanksgiving for God's "law" (or teaching), because to live in God's ways is a delight, that gives life. Later, as Jesus prepared his disciples for his death and resurrection, he encouraged them to remember and to live out his teachings as a sign of love for him, in John 14:23-29.

This Sunday, we'll ponder together what exactly Scripture "is", what it is for, and how reflecting on Scripture can help us draw near to God. What ways of studying or reflecting on Scripture, are most life-giving for you? Do you have a favourite passage or story in Scripture? How does it sustain you? Have you ever wanted to learn more about the Bible, but not known where to start?

As always, there will be spirited singing, heart-felt prayer, warm hospitality, and the company of others on the Way of Love - this Sunday, and every Sunday.

This Week in Our Children and Youth Ministries...

Our age-specific children and youth Sunday ministries are offered this Sunday! We gather at 10am for prayer, song, sacred story, reflection and response (for about 20 minutes), before being invited to move to separate places and ways of being together.

Preschool Church will be led by Reyna and Frances, Children's Church will be led by Pam and Simon, and Youth Church will be led by Zach.
