Not only does it decrease energy costs by helping cool our homes, trees also provide oxygen and reduce the overall concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Trees combat climate change, clean the air, cool the streets, conserve energy and provide a natural habitat for birds and wildlife. In other words, trees are essential to life - they provide the air we breathe! Tree planting is a great family activity and a way to encourage our children to put into practice what they are learning in science class!
Winterizing your Garden and Planning for Spring Blooms
All evergreens should remain well watered all the way up to freezing. They continue to lose moisture all through winter so it is imperative that they are well imbibed before the ground freezes. As part of the fall garden clean up, now is a good time to cut back any spring & summer blooming perennials. Let your ornamental grasses shine by allowing them to be the star of your fall garden!
