The City Council met on Wednesday, October 3 and took the following action:
- Authorized a permanent easement for a public walkway at the Hamilton Parking Lot (article below)
- Authorized an amendment to the easement area for the Multi-Use Path along Farrell Road to Division Street
- Authorized preliminary engineering services for Quiet Zone Improvements for Rail Crossings
- Approved Rezoning from R1 Single Family Residential to C2 Commercial Highway and Special Use Permit for the property located at 14556 S. Archer Avenue
- Awarded the 2018 Pavement Marking Project to Mark-It Striping, Inc. Pavement markings include intersection stop bars, roadway center lines, and pedestrian crosswalks.

Halloween Movie Night at the Roxy

In the spirit of Halloween, the City's Summer Art Series Committee is hosting a family-friendly movie night showing Monster House this Wednesday, October 17 at the Roxy Theater.
Attendees are encouraged to come dressed up in costume, and children in costume will receive a special treat. Pizza, hot dogs, popcorn, candy, pop, and water will be available to purchase from Papa Joe's.

Hamilton Parking Lot Walkway

A new walkway was recently installed to connect the Hamilton Parking Lot (along Hamilton Street between 9th and 10th Streets) to the alley behind businesses on the east side of State Street. Visitors can now access State Street from the public parking lot, through the walkway, to connect to the alley and then 9th and 10th Streets.
