Greetings from O'Brien Guitars

This past month two more students built their guitars at O'Brien Guitars. One was a classical and the other was a steel string. Both guitars turned out great and are being enjoyed by their owners. One might think that the guitars built with me in my shop by students are just that - "Student Guitars" All you have to do is hear and play one to notice that they are much better than your run of the mill student guitar. All of the guitars are good and some of them are so good that I hate to see them leave the shop. Congratulations to latest students to complete their guitars. Please see the video below of one of the completed guitars.
My 2019 building schedule is already full so if you are thinking about coming to build a guitar with me please let me know so we can get you on my calendar.
October is here already and I am headed to Jay Lichty's shop in North Carolina where we will be filming an advanced ukulele building course over the next couple of weeks. Look for this course soon on my online course page on my website.

This week I also released my most recent video in my popular Luthier Tips du Jour series. In this video I show how to do mitered purflings.

If you are interested in learning to build guitars or just want
to see how I build my guitars then schedule a class with me.
If you are in need of a concert quality classical or steel string
guitar then let me know as I would love to build a guitar for you.

Thank you,
