Impressive harmonies of voice, instrument and spirit create a feeling of home when they play together. Kelly and Norm are seasoned musicians who have played in many groups and performed as solo singer/instrumentalists. These two Northern Michiganders have now combined their talents to form the duet, Rustic Heart.
Kelly brings her original songs of family and home, along with her interpretations of traditional mountain music. Norm’s deep baritone voice lends itself to country classics and his own original songs. Norm is enjoying learning to accompany Kelly with “mountain modal” tunings on his guitar, while Kelly surprises with turns on her fiddle, harp, banjo and a variety of other instruments.

Climb aboard the Red Sky Stage freight train for some first class Northern Michigan Bluegrass. Steel and Wood is a repeat visitor to our stage for good reason and a long time favorite of our audience.
Steel & Wood is John Neiswander on lead guitar and banjo, Irene Kazmers on fiddle and guitar, Bruce Walker on mandolin and John Hussey on bass. Each of them is a talented musician but when they play together the magic is contagious.
Steel and Wood plays hard drivin' bluegrass and other friendly frequencies from the Southland of Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia. Theirs is the sound of the Appalachian Mountains blended with the parallel harmonies that make up the high lonesome sound.

Saturday, October 13, 7pm Great North Songwriters Festival
It will take all of Downtown Petoskey to host this celebration of the outstanding singer/songwriters of Northern Michigan.
The feature location of the event will be Red Sky Stage. We will present three performances, one free show in the afternoon from noon to 5 pm and a two ticketed shows in the evening, one at 6pm and the other at 8pm. Each performance will feature a select collection of the best singer/songwriters from this music crazy region.

This three day weekend event features entertainment and seminars guaranteed to make you a better and happier harp player. Instructor/performers include nationally recognized harmonica all-stars Madcat Ruth (pictured below), Todd Parrott , Ronnie Shellist, Greg Heumann and Petoskey's own Steve August.

Blissfest is taking over our stage for the night to present this wonderful concert.
Where energy, intellect and an unbridled passion for life intersect, there you’ll find the music of Alan Gerber. Possessing a rock ‘n roll swagger born from years in the musical trenches tempered by a soulful poet’s heart, Gerber has won a devoted legion of fans drawn to his cleverly crafted lyrics and engaging live performances.
Alan Gerber was a founding member of Elektra Records recording group, "Rhinoceros". A multi-instrumentalist: Piano, guitars (acoustic and electric slide), fiddle, button accordion, vocalist and composer. Appeared with Bob Dylan, BB King, Van Morrison, Janis Joplin, John Lee Hooker, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee and many others.
Alan Gerber now lives in Canada where he put down roots while continuing to write, record and tour throughout the world.

Northern Michigan's premier concert and dance big band presents its regular monthly night of music and dancing on our 1,000 square foot dance floor.
The Up North Big Band Is nineteen talented musicians from across Northern Michigan, who preserve the sounds of the big band era. The UNBB offers tight ensemble playing combined with exceptional solo features and live vocals.
Red Sky Stage is the official home of the UNBB and its monthly, well known and popular interpretation of 30's and 40's swing and big band dance music.
