Nokiiwin Proudly Presents the

Online Community Resource Guide

Wellness Resources for a Healthy Community

The Nokiiwin Disabilities Initiative has developed an updated, searchable online version of our Community Resource Guide (CRG). Through conversations with each council, members and service providers in all six affiliated communities, we have developed an easy to use online tool for community members to quickly get connected to the services and resources that they need.

More information on accessing the Community Resource Guide is provided below. For those interested in accessing the resource guide now, please visit it using the button below.

Accessing the Community Resource Guide

The Community Resource Guide (CRG) exists to enhance access to wellness services for Nokiiwin communities.  Two clicks will take you to three searchable pages that contain the contact information of health and wellness related services that are available to you and your community. As an online initiative, the resource guide is continuously updated with relevant information and program changes. If you have any information that will help keep the resource guide current, useful and user-friendly as possible, please let us know. If you have any suggestions for updates, edits, or corrections, please notify Brian Dunn at disabilities@nokiiwin.com.

How to use the Community Resource Guide

1.    Visit our website www.nokiiwin.com. In the drop-down options under "Resources" click on the "Community Resource Guide." Alternatively, you can click here.

2.    This will take you to the map page with pinpoints identifying all six of Nokiiwin's member communities. If you scroll down the map page you will also find "emergency, crisis and hotline numbers." All of the phone numbers are hyperlinked, which will offer an immediate dialling option for your computer or mobile keypad.

3.    For non-emergency information click on one of the pinpoints on the map with the six member communities. This click will take you to the Medicine Wheel page. Identify the particular area of wellness that you are searching for such as, "Spiritual," "Emotional," "Physical" or "Mental" focused services.

4.    This action will take you to a directory page of information specific to each community. The information is divided up into two categories, "community access" for services within the community itself and "external support" for those available within reasonable proximity.

5.    You can also search for information by using the three filters, or access all of it by setting all three filters to "any." Follow the prompts on any one of the directory pages to save the information to your computer or mobile as a pdf or to print up a copy for your records.

6.    At the top of each of the six directory pages, you also have the option to save and print the "Thunder Bay, Provincial and National Resources." You will find a wealth of information for the whole region, all categorized to make it easy to find things.

We hope that you find this to be a useful resource towards an individual and community vision for total wellness - Spiritual, Emotional, Physical and Mental.
