ASH welcomes Claartje Rasterhoff as assistant professor in Urban History and Digital Methods and as coordinator of the Amsterdam Time Machine in the programme Creative Amsterdam: An E-Humanities Perspective (CREATE). Currently she is developing a new research project provisionally called Nightscapes - the cultural economy of urban historical nightlife. Read more

New Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity
Recently, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU), Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), Associated Applied Research Institutes (TO2), Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences (VH), and the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) worked together intensively to thoroughly amend and expand the Code of Conduct that has been in use since 2004. Call for proposals Prof. J.C.M. Warnsinck Fellowship 2019
Het Scheepvaartmuseum has opened the call for the Prof J.C.M. Warnsinck Fellowship 2019. There are four grants available of 4000 € for (recently) graduated MA students. Projects start in February or September and have a duration of maximum five months. Deadline for application is 4 November.

In 2018 it is 400 years since the death of Gerbrand Adriaensz. Bredero, poet and playwright. This special Golden Age lecture will focus on Bredero's anniversary. Exhibition Bredero 400 years
22 August - 21 October Special Collections, Oude Turfmarkt 129
Special Collections hosts a small exhibition about poet and playwright Gerbrand Adriaensz. Bredero. On display are genuine seventeenth century prints and images complemented with photos, theatre programmes and posters from later periods.
The exhibition will show Bredero’s short and mysterious life, friendships and love stories, his plays, poems and other work and the appreciation of the public.
De exhibition is curated in cooperation with Jeroen Jansen, Lia van Gemert and students of Dutch Studies of the UvA. In addition to the exhibition an app is released with recordings from Bredero’s songs and plays and with extra information about the artefacts of the exhibition as well as several audio tours. Cutting Edge Research Fund | Call for proposals reopened
As of 1 September 2018, the UvA FGw Cutting Edge Research Fund will be reopened.
Applications can be submitted continuously until no later than 30 June 2019. Furthermore, the call’s scope has been widen for Research Fellowships, now also enabling applicants to prepare an application by a consortium in the context of the Dutch National Research Agenda (NWA) and the Dutch Top Sectors. NWO Matchmaking events - Dutch National Research Agenda
Researchers who are employed at Dutch knowledge institutions can submit proposals for the organisation of matchmaking events, within one or more of the 25 routes of the Dutch National Research Agenda (NWA) from the portfolio for Research and Innovation. The purpose of the Matchmaking events is to form (new) consortia across the entire knowledge chain and developing proposals for innovative research. For each initiative, a maximum of € 10,000 can be applied for. Read more

CfP Creative industry - Knowledge Innovation Mapping (KIEM)
The Creative Industry - KIEM programme aims to encourage and facilitate fundamental and industrial research. Researchers can apply for funding via KIEM on behalf of consortia of companies and researchers.
KIEM only finances projects involving a collaboration between at least one researcher and at least one private party. The private partner must fund part of the project (matching). The matching funds can be provided by more than one private partner.
A KIEM application can have up to two co-applicants. Co-applicants must also be researchers employed at a NWO-accredited research institution holding a PhD.
The last assessment date for 2018 is 8 November. Read more
