Maryville College is gearing up for Homecoming 2018, Oct. 26-28, and the official kick-off of the Bicentennial. Have you made plans to attend? Check out the weekend’s schedule and plans for reunion classes and registration extended until Oct. 10!

Maryville College welcomed 282 new freshmen to campus this fall and of those new students, several already have MC ties. Read about Isaac Wiley ’22, grandson of Jean Currie Beard ’64 and Bob Beard ’64, who is the 27th in his family to become a Scot!

Last week, the College announced details of its first pitch competition, the Scots Innovation Challenge, scheduled for Feb. 28, 2019. Students, faculty, alumni and community members are encouraged to develop their business ideas. See the website for information.

Alayne Bowman

Bowman named VP

Alayne Bowman, previously the College’s director of financial aid, was named MC’s vice president for admissions and financial aid last month. A 14-year employee of the College, she was selected for her extensive knowledge of MC and admissions processes and a track record of meeting or exceeding goals in areas under her leadership.

Theatre production

"Metamorphoses", a play written by Mary Zimmerman and based on the poetry of Ovid, will be performed by the College’s Theatre Department Oct. 11-14. The set includes a 10-by-15-foot pool filled with water! Read all about it and make plans to attend.
