Diabetes Roadshow

Thanks to everyone who came along to the diabetes roadshow event held outside The Apex in Bury St Edmunds last week.

The purpose of this roadshow was to raise diabetes awareness and the importance of attending a structured education session as an integral part of diabetes self-care.  Staff from the Adult Diabetes Service at West Suffolk Hospital, NHS West Suffolk CCG and Diabetes UK were all in attendance - handing out information and talking to the public about diabetes education, diet, exercise, diabetes prevention and testing for atrial fibrillation as a means for stroke prevention.

Following the success of this roadshow, another is planned for Sudbury, working with Hardwicke House Surgery and its Patient Participation Group and linking with flu clinics in all surrounding practices.

Remember if you live with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, and haven't already participated, you can sign up for a free NHS course that could help you live well with the condition. More HERE
