Have you Paid your Membership?

Membership Subscriptions are due and should be paid by bank transfer/cheque/cash to Team Managers or to the Membership Secretary. Our aim is to keep subscriptions as low as possible to ensure that all can play rugby. Additional information can be found here.

Charity First XV Lunch - 6th October

Saturday the 6th of October sees the First XV take on Wimbledon RFC. This lunch is our annual Breast Cancer Charity lunch. If you are interested in attending, please email Hayley Pacey. Click here to view all the lunch dates.

Swab for Charlie and Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride

Head down to Old Leigh on Sunday the 30th of September to Swab for Charlie and watch over 150 motorcycles ride from Shoebury to Old Leigh to raise funds for prostate cancer and bring awareness for the swabbing. They are called Distinguished Gentleman’s ride - dressing accordingly, arriving in Leigh at the Swabbing time. Click here for more details.

Please Clear Up Your Rubbish!

Coaches, players and parents...please help to keep the pitches safe and tidy from litter. Bottle caps and glass can be very dangerous for players. Please ensure that after games and training all rubbish is put in the bin.

Be Part of the Family

The club needs a volunteer to help run the Club Shop on Sundays. If you are that person, contact Tim Ablethorpe.

Rhino Volunteering Award

The Rhino Volunteering Award is a prestigious award that is donated to volunteers that help the rugby club. This year, it was presented to members of "The Collective", for their outstanding contribution to the ALF tournament.

WRFC are looking for donations for raffle prizes and wine sponsors. Anyone who donates will have their name/company mentioned in the programme/menu on the evening. Please email Diane or Heidi for details or click here for more information.

Westcliff RFC Fireworks Display

Friday 2 November - BBW from 6.45pm - Display at 8pm.
Adults £5 - Children £3 (U18)
Family ticket £15 (2 adults & 2 children)
Under 5's go free.
Tickets on sale from 1 October behind the bar

Westcliff RFC Halloween Party

The Westcliff Lionesses are hosting a Halloween Dress-up party at The Gables! Saturday 3rd November @ 7:30pm. Tickets are £5 per head and children are welcome for free. Tickets can be purchased from behind the bar or from any of the Westcliff ladies rugby team.
This is the ladies hosting their first event of many more to come... lets make it a good one!

Westcliff Lionesses

Lions Bring Home The Essex Cup

In a thrilling game away against Brentwood in the final of the Essex Cup, Brentwood were no match for a fired up and full strength Lions squad. Early dominance and persistent aggression saw the #MAGARMY take an early lead and lead the whole game. The final score was WRFC 28 - 5. Featured here, Jake Wilkinson and Reece Harvey holding the well deserved silverware.

Westcliff Family News

WRFC are pleased to congratulate James Webster and Emma Hayward on giving birth to a little girl, who we were very impressed to see down at the club only 4 days after her birth.

We welcome Isabella-Maria Rose Webster and look forward to her joining the Westcliff Wildcats and then the Lionesses.

WRFC are sad to announce that the following members have recently passed:

Dave Latham – 1st XV stalwart second row for several years in the seventies, died suddenly in France in early September. Dave was a regular supporter of the Dick Smith lunches, attending most recently in March of this year.

Denny Bridge – Former 1st XV captain in the mid-fifties, when the side enjoyed two very good seasons, losing only four matches out of thirty-three in 1956-7, when Denny was leading try scorer. A very long-standing Vice-President although visits back to England became few and far between.

Ray Scudder – A gifted WHSB athlete and regular 1st XV player in Jim Harrison’s successful side of 1957-8, before moving to Surrey. Ray died in the late Spring.
