Results To Be Announced Next Wednesday
The Annual Giving Campaign has finally come to a close. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this important fundraiser!

The grand total and classroom winners will be announced on October 17 in the Paw Print Press, morning announcements, online posts, and emails to classrooms. We're taking this week to double-check all the entries and tally results.

Donations are tax-deductible, and a receipt has already been issued for every donation to the Annual Giving Campaign. If you donated by PayPal, receipts were emailed to the email address on your PayPal payment. If you paid by cash or check and we had an email on file for you, we emailed the receipt there. For those few parents or extended family members without an email address, we issued a paper receipt and gave them to your teachers to send home. Check your email or student's backpack if you haven't seen your receipt, and contact pta@LakeshoreElementary.org by Tuesday, October 16 if you definitely have not received your receipt.

We are so grateful for the generosity and determination of our community. We've seen one student with 19 donors! Twenty-six students so far have three or more donations each! Do you have an Annual Giving Campaign story to share? Do you know someone who went above and beyond? For instance, we heard last year of a student running a lemonade stand to support the campaign. Tell us at pta@LakeshoreElementary.org. We would love to feature such efforts in an upcoming publication.
Thank You Corner:
Yoga Window Covering Crew

Our space for yoga was in urgent need of some window coverings to block the sun in kids' eyes and help with the heat (if we ever get more hot days!). Special thanks to all who responded including George Mapa, Tim Daly, Dan Frost and big applause to Mike Beitiks! Our yoga teacher, Fatima Ahmed, is thrilled!
Noriega Produce Gives Back
Do you shop at Noriega Produce, Gus's Community Market, or Haight Street Market? Then sign up for their scrip program here. After you sign up, just provide your phone number at checkout at any of those three stores, and Lakeshore gets 6% back!

Thank you to Laura Batie for signing Lakeshore up and the Vardakastanis family, who runs the Gus's Community Market stores and is a Lakeshore family!
Help with Lakeshore Tours
Do you love Lakeshore and want to show others how special we are? The Tours team is looking for enthusiastic families to assist with school tours starting today. No special skills required. Enthusiasm is more important than the time spent at Lakeshore. Kinder families are especially useful in helping incoming families with the decision process. If you can assist, please email tours@lakeshoreelementary.org.

PTA Fest: October 11 (6-8pm)
Tomorrow, come learn more about Lakeshore's three main enrichment programs that your PTA fundraising dollars pay for. Enjoy a Studio Art project with Sharon Collins, get moving in Motor Perception with Marlene Bazdarich, and check out the Garden and Bungalow that Martha Luna and Jean Butler use to teach our kids about science and nature.

It'll be a lovely evening showcase in the garden with live music and light hors d'oeuvres. Come and meet our extremely dedicated team of Program Consultants who help to make Lakeshore the well-rounded school that we are. Everyone is welcome! Contact Harper Honan at harper.honan@gmail.com if you can assist!
PTA Meeting: October 18
Thank you to everyone who joined our first PTA meeting in September. Our next meeting is Thursday, October 18 at 6pm. We will have a tiny budget amendment to vote on as well as more ways to get to know your fellow parents and a parent education topic to be announced. As always, snacks and child care are provided for kids 4 and up and potty trained ($5 suggested donation).
Greening Committee Meeting

Do you have an interest in gardening? Have ideas about beautifying our yards? Come join Lakeshore's Greening Committee!

Our first meeting will be held on Thursday, October 18 at 3:45pm in B3 (Gardening classroom). Please email terriklein@yahoo.com if you will be attending.
Do You Love Halloween? Spooky Scary Without Volunteers!

Halloween is right around the corner and it's a very special event at Lakeshore. Kids are welcome to come in their costumes. We start off the festivities with our parade, serenaded by the Lowell Orchestra playing Halloween favorites. Each class then goes through the transformed Community Room to have thrills, chills, and fun.

It takes a village to transform an all-purpose room and run the activities. To help, please sign up online at bit.ly/ls18hlw or email halloween@LakeshoreElementary.org.
Want to include something in the next edition? Please complete the PPP Submission Form here bit.ly/pppsubmit no later than Friday at noon with final content. Thank you!
