LA FPI's early October 2018 eBlast!

Meet the Instigators

It’s that time of the year again. Time to “Meet the Instigators”

Katherine Murphy is a playwright, improviser, director, and one of your eBlast editors. You hear from her on the first(ish) of the month (like now!) after she’s spent the weekend scrounging through emails, websites, and opportunities for y’all. She wants to know about your shows. Email a blurb to info@lafpi.com and she’ll do her darnedest to get it into the next eBlast. Katherine is one of those rare birds born and raised around these parts: a Native Angelean, a Valley Girl from the “Valley Girl” era (she can do the voice, but only for a fee), a product of LAUSD, a UC, and a State University. From a family of misfits, not one is in “the business” other than Katherine’s peripheral relation via playwrighting.

You can follow Katherine on twitter at @wiseacreswest. Be forewarned: It will get political. Oh, and she just quit her day job so she can focus on writing. People call her insane.

Wednesday, October 17th: our first LA FPI Night at Garry Marshall Theatre: Real Women Have Curves by Josefina López, directed by Mary Jo DuPrey. And this production also features an all-female design team! So starting at 7pm, we’ll enjoy drinks in the lobby with fellow writers as well as audience members who (surprise!) are curious about and want to hear from female playwrights! After the show, stay for a discussion with López and other artists. Exclusive LA FPI ticket offer: Code LAFPI35 Online Here or call the Box Office (818) 955-8101 for $35 tickets. On the LA FPI Night, your ticket includes a free drink!

Talk Back Theatre (TBT) seeks plays by Latinx writers, featuring Latinx characters. TBT is dedicated to producing staged readings of full-length new work.
