Fall is more than pumpkin spice in Dorchester
Around here, fall is when we celebrate wild oysters, corn mazes, U-Pick pumpkins, and ghost walks. Plus this month is your last chance to get out on the water without your own boat until next spring, so join a skipjack sail, get paddling on a kayak or stand-up paddleboard, or try a riverboat cruise. And fall fishing is going strong! It’s also getting to be a great time for watching for migrating birds. Here are our Top 10 suggestions for how to make the most of the fall season in Dorchester.

IRONMAN renews for 5 more years in Dorchester
IRONMAN is keeping its triathlons — both IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman and IRONMAN Maryland — in Dorchester County for at least another five years. The news came during the Athlete Welcome Ceremony (with Cambridge Mayor Victoria Jackson-Stanley and Dorchester County Council president Ricky Travers, pictured above) for IRONMAN Maryland, a 140.6-mile race and one of the most grueling endurance events in the world. Each year, these two races bring millions of dollars into the local economy. Thanks to everyone -- volunteers, IRONClub Maryland supporters, businesses, enthusiastic community members, and race director Gerry Boyle -- who make these races so special! Read more.
