UPDATE

Dear InnoStars and RIS Hub friends,

We have dynamically started the last quarter of the year. InnoStars Partners were very active on the second Innovation by Idea call that closed in October. I hope that many of the submitted projects will be invited for the hearings and will be granted in 2019. With the recently submitted Business Plan' amendment, we also launched a spurt until Christmas to conclude all 2018 activities. This time of the year is dedicated not only to finish this year’s projects, but also to start working on future ones. Based on Partners’ feedback EIT Health made significant changes in the yearly call cycle. One important aspect is to provide more project development and networking opportunities for EIT Health members, therefore a series of Ideation Events has been launched each of which covers two focus areas. You can still register for the 3rd event that takes place in Madrid on 19-20th November. The outcome of the Ideation Events will be followed up during the Summit in Łódź and the project development process will be closed with the yearly matchmaking event in Berlin at the beginning of February. I encourage you to take a good look at the Focus areas, select and dedicate the most appropriate experts to represent your organization on the Ideation and matchmaking events as well as to learn about the details on changes to Innovation projects for BP 2020.

Another important initiative for the next year is to extend EIT’s activities to countries outside Europe having well developed innovation ecosystems to utilize mutual benefits of innovation and co-creation. As part of the EIT Cross-KIC Outreach initiative, EIT KICs join forces to launch specific activities Israel and China. I invite you to help us define EIT’s strategic approach towards these countries and fill out two short questionnaires, that you can find below.

Finally, there are also several key events taking place in the near future that you cannot miss. I would like to warmly encourage you to take part in the Joint Grand Final 2018 – the largest pitching event in Central and Southern Europe, that we – as InnoStars – are co-organising in Budapest on 16th November 2018. This is a great opportunity to meet a new generation of innovators! Moreover, I would like also to officially invite you to Łodź, Poland for the annual EIT Health Summit that will take place on 4th-5th December this year.

As you can see the upcoming months will be very busy for all of us, but I am sure that all the efforts we make and all the events we participate on will contribute to an increasing success rate of InnoStars Partners within EIT Health.

With best regards,

Balazs Furjes | Managing Director EIT Health InnoStars
