HELP US HELP FRANKLIN ATHLETES
aka VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Hello friends of FAB. I am coordinating volunteers for Franklin athletic events this year through a network of coaches and team parent liaisons. A core mission of FAB is community volunteer support for our athletic teams rather than each sport trying to "go it alone" and staff ticket sales and concessions for their own events. Not only does this broaden the pool of volunteers, but it also allows parents to enjoy their kids' games in exchange for helping out elsewhere. Where possible, we are asking teams to "own" events. For example Cheer has decided to do all the concession work for home volleyball games. This makes the role of team parent liaison invaluable since they work with the team families to find the volunteers to meet their commitment. Currently we are still looking for team liaisons for:
Dance
Football
Women
Women's Track
Wrestling
We also are looking for a liaison who can handle alumni and other volunteers not affiliated with a specific sport.
Please remember that even small events bring in significant dollars that go straight to pooled funds for Franklin Athletics. A closed concession window at an event means hundreds of dollars in lost opportunity for the students.
