Beacon Hill Updates

As of October 2018, I was appointed by House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo to the State’s Commission on Recovery Coaching and by Chair Claire Cronin of the Judiciary Committee to the State’s Justice Reinvestment Oversight Board.

Over the past five years as a legislator, I have made it a priority to listen to the concerns from the Fall River Police Department as well as those on the frontline providing services to individuals impacted by the opioid crisis. I have been on ride-alongs with our police and follow-up visits to the addresses of individuals that have overdosed with Project Reconnect. I would like to thank Speaker DeLeo and Chair Cronin for their appointments which will allow me to continue to learn about the many different resources that can be utilized to help our most fragile individuals.
Thank you to owners Karl Hetzler and Robert St.Pierre of H&S Tool for being my guests at the State House to be honored at the Third Annual Manufacturing Caucus Award Ceremony! H&S Tool & Engineering, Inc. was one of 59 manufacturers in the Commonwealth to be recognized as Manufacturer of the Year for their innovative and revolutionary manufacturing capabilities and products.

It was an honor to participate in the YouthBuild Fall River commencement for 25 young adults who have found a path and purpose forward thanks to this program. The Legislature funds Youthbuild and as a State Representative that advocates for this funding in the budget, seeing the success first hand is truly rewarding. We will continue to support and invest in all of our youth.
The Fall River Delegation hosted a forum with the Department of Transitional Assistance Commissioner McCue at Masshire Fall River Career Center for businesses and providers to understand the changes that will provide economic mobility and employment for DTA clients and their families.
Meet & Greet State Representative Carole Fiola at Point Gloria on our waterfront was a hit! Thank you to all the residents who joined and brought some goodies. We talked about all the projects that are happening in their neighborhood and so much more!
It was a beautiful night for Walk and Talk with State Rep Fiola at the Quequechan River Rail Trail. Thank you to Janice Velozo and David Jennings for sharing your knowledge of the trail and to all that joined!
I was proud to join with some great leading women and champions of our Gateway Cities including our Lieutenant Gover Kayn Politio at the 6th Annual MassINC Gateway Cities Innovation Institute Annual Awards Summit.

Special Holiday Edition of Coffee and Conversation with Carole

"Coffee and Conversation with Carole" has been a popular series with my constituents, many of whom show up to voice concerns, tell a personal story, or just say hello. This is a great way for me to learn more about the issues throughout the district.

We will be hosting a special holiday edition at the Lafayette Durfee House!
  • Tuesday, December 11, 5:30pm-6:30pm 94 Cherry St, Fall River
Please join us for a tour and enjoy a warm beverage and pastry by the fire.
