SES Standards Engineering
The September/October issue of Standards Engineering is the conference issue. Included you'll find a summary of what happened, information on awards recipients and their activities, and the president’s State of the Society address.
This year there is additional information on the adjunct events, both the NIST workshop on conformity assessment and the interactive session on workforce development. There are also short pieces on journalism standards and remote meetings, as well as our normal news columns, new members and milestones, and the thinking of the SES executive director and president.

SES Member Spotlight
The Society for Standards Professionals (SES) is seeking SES Member volunteers to discuss how they became a member, what standards development means to them, and how the SES has contributed or played a part in their professional development. The SES Standards Committee is developing a revision to the SES 2 standard which provides guidance to standards development organizations, trade associations, government agencies, companies and any others involved in the development of standards. It addresses the essential due process requirements for the development, revision, reaffirmation and withdrawal of standards in the form of a model procedures guide. ASTM is gathering applications for project grants for the 2018-19 school year. They offer up to five $500 grants to individuals/teams who plan to incorporate ASTM standards into their capstone/senior design projects.
