From the Heart
Let's tell you a story...

Everyday countless children and parents pass through the gates of Our hospitals, some armed with confidence that treatment here is definitive, some in distress of having to go through Hospital protocols yet again, many as a last resort because they've faced too many closed doors. But on leaving, there is only one emotion. The deepest love that challenges the very essence of the human spirit. We see everyday, what that love translates to. Here are individuals with crushing financial constraints, geographical restrictions, language barriers, cultural differences who experience a change so deep that their debility converts to a resilient force to do better. It is humbling to see the capacity of a person driven by Love.
Here are some cases that have piqued medical interest.
Karam Jeet, a 3 year old child from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh experienced frequent chest infections needing frequent hospitalizations. The child was referred to Sai Sanjeevani by a local pediatric specialist, where he was diagnosed to have multiple VSDs. He underwent surgical closure of multiple VSDs using the RV apex exclusion technique on 27th September 2018. The child remained hemodynamically stable during a prolonged ICU course, and has had a complete recovery.
5 year old Sneha came all the way from Kolkata after a local paediatric specialist diagnosed her with CHD when evaluating an episode of fever. Here, she was diagnosed with a Large ASD. Having a facial developmental anomaly, Sneha was also diagnosed with a particularly rare syndrome called 'Robinow Syndrome' which affects many parts of the body, resulting in skeletal abnormalities & distinctive facial features. There are reportedly only about 100 such cases worldwide, with approximately 15% of them having CHD. She underwent a successful device closure of ASD under local anesthesia at Palwal on 28th September 2018, and safely returned home.

FULL CIRCLE - Dewakar Sahu, an 8 yr old boy, student of a Government run school - Pragya - for the differently abled children, was suspected of a heart defect. Dewakar, being deaf since birth had already undergone a Cardiac Surgery but as his parents tearfully explained, could not afford the second procedure required. They were immediately referred to Sai Sanjeevani, Atal Nagar, he was diagnosed of having an ASD of 10mm size. Cath intervention ASD Closure was performed, his post-cath recovery was satisfactory and was discharged the very next day. The parents were awestruck by the speedy service and the surreal experience of having to leave the hospital with a treated healthy child and a long  life ahead, without ever opening their wallets.
