Hello All Fellow Runners and Walkers

Well once again we are into Spring Running and Walking with lots of events coming up for us to participate in.  First and foremost a reminder that we have swapped weekends with Nelson this coming weekend (6th October) and instead of the Dam run up the Maitai, we are doing the Richmond Hill pack run from Washbourn Gardens.  2.30pm start and all welcome.

On the 13th October, Nelson will now be organising an event, keep checking for details of where this will be on our Facebook and website.  This Wednesday, 3rd October is the first race in the 5k series from The Turf in Stoke 6.00pm start for Walkers 6.15pm Runners . Great chance to do a speed session as your training builds towards The Nelson Half Marathon on Sunday 4th November.  20th October is a Nelson event from The OK Coral in Brook St (Labour Weekend).

Our final event for the season is The Sprig and Fern Mapua 10k ( new course). This is on Saturday 27th October (Great final "hit out" prior to The Nelson Half). Meet at The Sprig and Fern for a 2.00 pm race briefing, Walkers will go at 2.15pm along with runners who plan on running PLUS 1 hour. All other runners will start at 2.35pm. $10 charge for non-members, Club members free entry. Club members please wear your club uniform so we can get some photos of you all looking resplendent in them. If you still would like to buy T-shirts, Jackets or Polo's please advise someone at one of our events, so they can be ordered.  We also need some help in the way of Time keeper, Recorder and handing out Discs for our Mapua event, please go to our website and go to the drop box that says Roster, and offer your services if you are injured and/or don't plan on participating.

Looking a bit further down the track, some other things to note in your diary are the start of our Eddyline 5k series on Wednesday 7th November 6.05pm walkers 6.15pm runners. This will be a series of 7 races leading up to Christmas.

Our AGM for Waimea Harriers is set for Tuesday 27th November 7.30pm at The Fish and Game Rooms in Champion Road Richmond. We have chosen this date so it doesn't conflict with 5k's on Monday and Wednesday so please do try to attend.  If anyone wants to try out the new course for the Mapua 10k some of us will be doing it one day next week, email or text me if you are keen to come along.
