LAND AND SEA
Thursday 4 October - Saturday 27 October

Land and Sea by multi-award winning artist Christine Scott explores ‘Entropy’ through the portrayal of the earth’s physical features and the transformations caused naturally through time, as well as those produced through human intervention. Working in mixed media, Scott says she invites viewers to look more closely at their surrounds to find a complexity in the natural environment.  “I am concerned with my experience and interpretation of the landscape, rather than direct representation. Each work can be viewed as a small record of a walk; an experience or moment from a journey”.

Exhibition opens with remarks by local artist Julie Bradley, on Thursday 4 October at 6pm. Exhibition continues until Saturday 27 October, 2018.

MERGENCE
Thursday 4 October - Saturday 27 October

Victorian artist Anne Warren’s first solo show in Canberra – Mergence – is a body of multilayered, complex collage assemblages. Created with a selection of found image fragments from various books, Warren says her playful constructions feature humans and animals positioned with objects like furniture, buildings and flowers. Warren uses collage to create a surreal visual language that highlights the mergence of the person or people with their favourite things. “When somebody tells me how much they adore fishing, or how much they love their dog, or their house, I wonder how much of themselves this love has occupied” Warren says.

Exhibition opens with remarks by local artist Julie Bradley, on Thursday 4 October at 6pm. Exhibition continues until Saturday 27 October, 2018.

COLLAGE WORKSHOP
Saturday 6 October 10am - 2pm

In conjunction with her exhibition Mergence, Victorian artist Anne Warren will present a four-hour collage workshop on Saturday 6 October from 10am - 2pm.

Anne will guide participants through sourcing images, creating custom backgrounds, design and composition to finalise artworks and will share the inspiration for her works in Mergence. Participants will take home two finished works ready for framing or suitable for digitising and editioning. The workshop is designed to be comfortable for all levels of skill and experience, and you are encouraged to work at your own pace. The only prerequisite is a love of books, imagery, text and papers and a willingness to explore and experiment to develop your own visual language.

Enrollments can be made via Trybooking at www.trybooking.com/XDKQ.

Saturday 6 - Saturday 27 October 10am - 2pm

Infants and toddlers (and their carers) are invited to get hands on with the artwork in Playing with Colour and Nature from 6-27 October.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 6-27 October. During this time, local children’s groups are invited to come and experience the exhibition.
