Two free events are
being
made
available
during
the
Carnival
via
the
MapRun
app
on
your
smartphone.
You can either view map on smartphone, or print off a paper copy. Phone will beep when you approach control. Upload results to be in running for two $50 prizes, to be drawn at random. You

Port Adelaide - Start at the famous Red Lighthouse in the heart of historic Port Adelaide. 3.1km Sprint. If you need help to get started, meet us there on Friday at 3pm for a demo.
West Beach Caravan Park - Start in front of Bunkhouse building. Note $5 Park entry for Day Visitors. 2.7km Sprint.

It is the Carnival's 'free day', so come join the Invitational Team for these fun excursions!

4. SCHOOLS INVITATIONAL TEAM CAMP, OCT 1-7
West Beach Caravan Park.
Especially for those aged 9-18 who are not in State Schools Team, and their families, but all are welcome.
You can come just for the day, after doing the Carnival events in the morning.
There's a swimming pool, games, DIY O-course, and evening talks and activities.
$5 for Park Day Visitors fee. Gold coin for participating in organised evening activities.
$17 for dinner (6pm). This must be booked in advance. Contact Aylwin

5. INTRODUCTION TO ORIENTEERING (VERY EASY AND EASY COURSES) WADMORE PARK WEDNESDAY 10 OCTOBER 2018
On Wednesday the 10th of October 2018 Orienteering SA will conduct an Introduction to Orienteering (Very Easy and Easy Courses) training session at Wadmore Park, Athelstone from 9.30 am to 3.00 pm.
The training is suitable for
both school age children and adults plus
registered teachers may be able to fulfil their training requirements for a
Level 0 Orienteering Coach.

6. Coach a Team or Squad??
To all the coaches out there, Orienteering Australia is looking for you to take up a position coaching a team or squad in 2019.
All of these positions are available, please consider
Our 2 main positions are
- OA Headcoach/Senior Squad coach (has 1st choice of being WOC Coach)
- Junior Squad coach (has 1st choice of being JWOC Coach)
These 2 coaches are assisted by
- National Development Squad Coach
- Targetted Talent Athlete Co-Ordinator
There are a number of squad tours this year, where we need a Coach and a Manager
- 1 - 3rd June, NZ tour Coach, and Manager
- 6 - 12th July, JWOC Coach, and Manager
- 12 - 17th Aug, WOC Coach, and Manager
We are also looking at attending a couple of other competitions
- 27 - 30th June, EYOC Coach/Manager
- 20 - 25th Aug, Asian Youth Champs, Coach/Manager
- 25 - 29th Oct, World Cup 4, Coach/Manager

7. Entries are now OPEN for the Easter Carnival 2019
With 7 quality orienteering experiences in just 9 days now is the time to block out your calendar and plan to be in WA to experience the great range and variety of events on offer. With the Australia 3 Day Championships, the Australian Sprint Championships and the Australian Middle Distance Championships there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Plus, there is a bonus sprint relay on Good Friday and still time for seeing the sights of Peth and WA.
