This Thursday starting at 5.30pm, we are really excited to bring to you our Arts Extravaganza showcasing a range of items from each strand of the Arts Curriculum: Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Art.

The theme of the night is ‘Community’. You will see elements of this as we gather for food, unveil our mural depicting our past, present and future, and as we enjoy together the creative aspects our students are showcasing.

We welcome you to move in and around the school to view and interact with the Visual Art in all classrooms. There are also two stages set up; one in the Activity Centre and the other on the tennis court where Dance, Drama and Music items will be presented.

Tickets: will be on sale as you enter ($5 per adult, children are free).

Parking: we will open up the small rugby field for x4 wheel drives to park on.

Weather: we know that our weather can be variable so we need to be prepared:
1) Bring warm clothes/jackets.
2) For dinner, you may want to sit inside on the floor in Matai, Rawe, Kawaka or Akotoa if it is too cold outside.
3) Take the opportunity to introduce yourself to a new face - that's how we build community.
4) Don't forget to get an American Hotdog ($3) or a hot drink for a friend from the coffee cart.

Behaviour Management: as teachers will be helping coordinate items, parents are responsible for their own children on the night.

Programme: below is an indication of how the evening will roll. Remember to move through classrooms during the night to view some of the Visual Art.

  • 5.30pm Picnic dinner (Friends of School are selling American Hotdogs for $3 each and the Coffee Cart is available)
  • 5.50pm Kapa Haka and Mural Unveiling
  • 6.15pm Set 1 in the Activity Centre
  • 6.45pm Set 2 on the Tennis Court
  • 7.45pm Set 3 in the Activity Centre
Rain, hail or shine, it is going to be a great night to celebrate our students, school and community. See you there!
