Pastors Pen Reflection

“Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. If we can acknowledge our fear, we can realize that right now we are okay. Right now, today, we are still alive, and our bodies are working marvelously. Our eyes can still see the beautiful sky. Our ears can still hear the voices of our loved ones.”
Thich Nhat Hanh

 Dear <<Name>>
We must remember God will be with us every step of the way! At times I’ve stepped out on my own without first spending time in prayer and discernment of the will of God. It’s easy to do when we get rushed and we are under time constraints. It is good however, to remember that God is with us! God is there as we seek that new job. God is there when we have struggles with others. God is there as we seek healing for ourselves and others. God is there when our hearts break because someone we know has passed. All we need to do is stop for a moment and seek God, even if we find it difficult.

Stop!
Listen!
God is with you!

If you are looking for answers to life you are no different than any other person I know. Most of us want to know the answer! We can know if we stop and listen for God. Scripture tells us in Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Asking and seeking is not enough, you must also knock. Do something to find the answers!

Maybe the answers we are seeking have already been given but we don’t like the answer. Maybe the answers are right before us and we don’t want to see them. Or maybe the answers require something more of us and we are just not willing to live into it. We may just need to let go of any fear surrounding those answers and be reminded God is with us!

I am reminded of Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”  We can be inspired as we worship God and put our trust back into the promises of God. God loves us and is always with us no matter what!  Let us be people who seek hope, healing and wholeness and find it in the loving arms of our Creator!
Blessings
