October is Small Business Month in NSW, and we’re here to give a shout out to all the creative businesses, especially our regional friends! Commonwealth Bank’s Unlocking Everyday Innovation report estimates $44 Billion AUD of innovation potential is waiting to be unlocked in Australia’s regional economy, and Irene’s presentation at the Regional Development Conference focused on the development of a strong regional creative economy as the key to unlocking this opportunity. There is huge potential for creative business to uplift and contribute to a vibrant and robust regional economy, but it will take a heck of a lot of work to get there. INTERVIEW - Woman of Influence

In 2013, Monica designed and facilitated a three day course at AFTRS: Running Your Own Creative Business. Geoff Jaeger, of Geoff Jaeger Consulting was one of her star students; who took an affinity to both the knowledge she bestowed upon the class and her slightly naughty disposition. Five years later after many exciting feats and a stint in our sunny Darlinghurst space, Geoff popped by for a coffee and dived deep into the early days of Monica's career, the sweet taste of first successes and plots for world domination. EVENT - I Hate Networking

I HATE NETWORKING is a surprisingly fun event designed to encourage creative people to get to know each other, while also acknowledging the horror that is networking, and sharing a few tips at the same time. Lubricated with plenty of drinkies, you will learn how to master the art of the introduction, nail your follow-up and deal with wankers. We know it sounds dreadful, but we promise you'll learn something and have a laugh.
