As always, there's so much to share, and so little time. But to help catch up, I'm going to try to give you a "60-second update".
Recently:
1) I've (finally!) written the manuscript of a book. This book is not specifically on a "pro-life topic", but the material will be a big help to people in Hong Kong, and especially for foreigners doing ministry and NGO work in this part of the world. (And even if you don't live in Hong Kong, you're probably going to want to read it too!) I'm going to keep you in suspense for now, but you can expect to see it next summer!
2) I finished an Intermediate Cantonese class. And separately, I've also memorized the handwriting of 1,300 Chinese characters. (For reference, Hong Kong high school students can write over 4,000 characters.) In the past, I'd spent literally hundreds of hours practicing writing. Even though I could read nearly 2,000 characters, I could hardly remember the handwriting of even 100 characters--until now!
3) I've continued cooperating with pro-life organisations in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Japan (and I'm continuing another project with the Equal Rights Institute).
As far as I know, this is the only building in Hong Kong that had windows shatter during Typhoon Mangkhut, which was the world's strongest storm of 2018. The winds were incredibly strong, and honestly, I was surprised that there was only one building like this! But Hong Kong has far more skyscrapers than any other city in the world, and they have excellent engineering standards.
4) I survived the typhoon season! (Summertime is always rough for me physically, because of the heat, humidity, etc.)
