Come to my free Gentle Yoga mini class at the Blue Cross NC store opening in Raleigh
I’m excited to be a part of the grand opening celebration of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s new retail store at Brier Creek Commons in Raleigh!
I will be leading FREE 10 minute Gentle Yoga and Yoga for Stress Relief classes every 30 minutes on Friday, October 5 from 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 6 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. My classes will be held in the tented area outside the new store. This is a chair and standing routine suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Can be done seated if you prefer; chairs will be provided. Please mark your calendar and come on out!
They have a full itinerary of festivities planned. I can't wait. Hope to see you there!

Don't go nuts with the nuts
Nuts are a healthy snack but also packed with calories. Gotta really watch your portions! A trick I use is to measure 1/4 cup (about 200 calories of cashews or peanuts) into ziploc sandwich bags. If I divide up the whole package right away, then I won’t mindlessly overeat them. More portion control tips

Picture us working together here, one on one!
For clients residing locally, I offer Personal Training and Weight Loss Coaching in my private home fitness studio, exclusively for women over 40. Clients tell me they LOVE the privacy and relaxed atmosphere when we work together one-on-one in my fully equipped studio. You’ll enjoy a world of difference from exercising in public in a crowded, noisy gym with all eyes on you. Here it's just you and me, and you have my full attention for the whole hour.
For clients located elsewhere or who aren't able to come to the studio, we can work together online. We'll do personal training via live video conferencing, my app on your smartphone or tablet, a client portal on my website, and phone calls. Distance doesn't matter. Pretty cool!

Recipe: Chicken & Rice Soup
The cool, crisp days of fall are here, or soon to be, at least. And that always makes me crave a bowl of hot, delicious homemade soup.
Soup is one of my favorite things to make, especially on a weekend. A big pot of soup made on Sunday will give our busy family several meals for the week. Pair it with a biscuit or muffin, or a grilled sandwich, for a quick, nutritious weeknight dinner.
If anyone in your family is getting sick, as tends to happen this time of year, grandma was right: chicken soup is good for whatever ails you! We have a pot in the refrigerator right now. Get the recipe
