There is always an interesting blend of feelings and influences at this time of year as the changes start to appear with the end of some things and new beginnings of others.
All of us are in many different relationships in our lives, whether it is within our own bodies, with other people and the environment that is around us. These relationships allow us to ground ourselves, to look to what we know to find stability and in the face of change we are stabilised through these relationships. Yoga is all about being in relationship, to have connection and relationship to the world within us and around us.
To understand this try a familiar yoga posture, like Tadasana, (mountain pose), try it in a different place from your yoga mat, moving train or a boat is interesting! It can feel very different and you maybe have to change the familiar alignment of the pose because you are in a completely different environment, but it is still Tadasana.
When we realise and accept that change is necessary, we find stability and a relationship to it. Rather than fighting for a familiar place when maybe it doesn't exist, we learn to accept where we are in the moment and enjoy it.
Happy Autumn.
See you on the mat soon,
