Fall is officially here and the Napa Farmers Market has a variety of exciting events in store of our community!

First up is Foods Days on October 20 and 23. Our theme is "Feeding Napa". Every market day, we receive fresh food donations directly from farmers and some customers that buy a little extra and drop it off at the Education Station. On Tuesdays, Waste Not Napa Valley picks up produce and delivers donations to The Table and other community partners like NEWS Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse Services. On Saturdays, the produce gets delivered to the Napa Food Bank by Napa Valley Can Do. During Food Days, we're going to share the story of what happens after donations leave the market so they can help our neighbors eat healthy, fresh meals.  Join us for our first bilingual cooking demo, play games, win prizes and donate to our fresh food drive during Food Days.

Next up something spooky will be in the air during our Haunted Market on October 27 and 30.  Special fall themed produce and food tastings will delight Education Station visitors. Costumes are encouraged and kids of all ages can win prizes at our costume contests!

On November 3 one of our most popular events returns: Napa Valley Give!Guide Goes to the Market!  Visit with a variety of local nonprofit organizations featured in the 2018 Give!Guide to help you decide how to donate by December 31 to help our community be healthy and vibrant as can be.

Finally, November 3 is our first year-round Saturday market and we're kicking off the season with a Holiday Bazaar! I can't think of a better place to buy locally made gifts for loved ones than from the Napa Farmers Market vendors. Stay tuned for more details!

See you at the market!

Foodie Spotlight
Jewel Date Company
Michael Rappaport AKA "The Date Guy" is a newer face at the market, but the Jewel Date Co. has been cultivating dozens of varieties of delicious dates in Thermal (Riverside County) since the 1920s. Later this month, stop by and see if he has some of the new crop of Medjool dates!  Michael enjoys the great variety of food at the market including Cornish Pasties from Bailey's Best and empanadas from Cocina Milonga.  What else does he like about the market? Our customers and hard working, friendly staff!

CalFresh Market Match Program
The Napa Farmers Market wants our fresh, local and farm-direct produce to be affordable for all people in Napa.

To help get more into the hands of our low-income neighbors, we hae  a token-matching program for all CalFresh participants that provides them with a dollar-for-dollar match to spend with market vendors.
How does the Market Match program work?
  1. Shoppers bring their EBT card to the Information Booth
  2. Market staff swipes the EBT card to charge the dollar amount requested by the shopper
  3. Market staff gives double the dollar amount change in tokens to spend on:
  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Meats, fish, and poultry
  • Dairy products
  • Breads and cereals
  • Seeds and plants that produce food
  • Hot foods cannot be purchased using CalFresh benefits
For more information on the Market Match program, visit our website.
Green Market Program
  • Fill your water bottle at our Free Hydration Station Water Bar!
  • Buy reusable water and hot liquid bottles (as well as market bags!) at cost at the Information Station
  • Bring in 10 single-use plastic produce bags and we’ll give you 1 reusable mesh produce bag
  • Bring your berry baskets to our Green Market booth and we will make sure they are reused
Volunteer Opportunities
Sign up for reading at StoryTime Tuesdays & Saturdays at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m.

About Napa Farmers Market
Napa Farmers Market is a California Certified Farmers Market and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community resource that draws hundreds of shoppers and visitors each market day. Vendors include many local fruit, vegetable and flower growers (some organic); fresh seafood and meat merchants; food purveyors offering coffee, baked goods, pupusas and other ready-to-eat fare; plus, artisanal pottery, jewelry and other hand-crafted wares. Educational kids’ activities, chef demos and nonprofit-organization booths add to the enriching, multicultural shopping experience at the market. The market also participates in the Market Match program, doubling the value of CalFresh benefits purchasing power for all eligible food products.
