Hello UMA Community,

The UMA Facilities Committee recently recommended to the UMA Board that we not renew our current lease. After some serious reflection, we determined that the limitations of our Osceola Avenue site, especially as it pertains to size, classroom space, and layout, have become a hinderance to our program. At the August 2018 Board meeting, the decision was made to inform our current landlords that we will not be returning to this building for the 2019-2020 school year. (Our current landlords are thus in search of tenants for next school year, so you may see some "for lease" signs around school.)

Negotiations are currently underway with a local building owner for a site that fits our size, program needs, and is close to our current location. Indeed, the Committee believes it has the potential to be our long-term home. While this owner has requested anonymity until official signatures have been applied to official dotted lines, the Facilities Committee wants to make sure our families know that we are excited about the prospects for next school year.

You can expect an official announcement within the next few weeks, and we look forward to working on the next steps of an exciting new era for UMA.

Kind regards,
The Facilities Committee
