This film is based on a true story. In 1991, talented figure skater Tonya Harding became the first American woman to complete a triple axel during a competition. In 1994, her world came crashing down when her ex-husband conspired to injure Nancy Kerrigan, a fellow Olympic hopeful, in a poorly conceived attack. In a first person narrative, Harding tells the story of how she was tarnished with one of the most infamous scandals in sports history.
“Robbie and Janney are flawless in a compelling and corrective account of a misunderstood figure; one of the more darkly funny biopics you’ll ever see”
